Xue Song, New Heights, 2022

Working together with Xue Song, Loftyart is proud to present a series of handcrafted, limited edition, silkscreen prints, each signed and numbered by the artist. The series takes Xue Song’s iconic style and transforms it into printed images through an extensive printmaking process. Every detail of each image is divided into individual screens and colors, and then layered back together, forming the composition piece by piece in a high number of runs. The process draws on the latest contemporary printmaking techniques and meets all the challenges of recreating the highly-detailed nature of Xue Song’s style of collage.

In contemporary art magazine ArtReview’s article on Art Taipei 2021, Xue Song’s New Heights was selected from the thousands of artworks exhibited at the art fair as the article’s feature image. Split into two halves, the mountain masses are composed of pictures of traditional Chinese landscape painting, while the water portion is filled with famous Baroque and Renaissance paintings, thereby creating a juxtaposition between mountain and water, and East versus West.
