Loftyart is proud to present, from several important private collections, an exhibition of paintings by Cheng Tsai-tung (Zheng Zaidong), titled Revisiting the Past. Cheng worked and lived in Taiwan during the 1990s, leading the new literati painting movement, and as of 2000 has ventured to reside in Shanghai. Drawing his subject matter from daily life, as well as the search for its deeper meaning, Cheng portrays often himself into his work, forming a strongly recognizable and mysterious personal style. Revisiting the Past reconstructs the world of Cheng Tsai-Tung during the 1990s, and his emotional bond with Taiwan at the time.
